Another position of the brake pedal corresponds to a different position of the piston - the force acting on the membrane is directly proportional to the pressure on the pedal, and therefore the vacuum value is adjustable.
In trucks, overpressure supporting devices are met, which use the compressed air pressure in a separate compressor driven by a vehicle engine. However, they are much more complex under construction, they require a larger number of elements, which also is more expensive. Their advantage is to operate regardless of changes in the engine load.
